Why apply for this role?

If you are looking to take your career to the next level in the field of Information and Performance, this is the role for you. We’re looking for a dynamic national lead to inform our work on planning, performance management, data and information (including Information Governance).

This is a very exciting time to join CHS as we have signed up to deliver "The Promise" and we are working with young people and our partners to redesign Children’s Hearings over the next 5 years. You will play a key role in supporting us to deliver this change.

You will lead on how CHS manages and uses data to inform the redesign and how we operate in the future and ongoing improvement. Following implementation of a new digital system in 2020 CHS now has access to a wide range of data and you will be responsible for leading the design and delivery of Management Information systems and dashboards in support of continuous service improvement and redesign.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, production and delivery of integrated strategic corporate and operational business as well as corporate and parenting plans
  • Manage, review and enhance CHS’s organisational planning and performance management cycle
  • Implement and manage an effective organisational performance management system which meets statutory reporting requirements and delivers measurable improvements
  • Lead CHS’s approaches to, and improvements of, the management and use of data including the implementation of a data strategy
  • Lead the Information Governance, data protection and security functions and services to meet statutory and organisational needs
  • Lead the effective management of a high-quality statutory information request service (answering SARs, FOISAs, EIRs) to the public and other external enquirers.
  • Take the lead role in enhancing and championing national approaches of quality management and measurement of quality
  • Highlight and play a lead role in managing and escalating risks and key issues across the accountability areas through the appropriate governance arrangements
  • Promote and specify improvements to relevant digital systems to ensure that they continue to meet the needs of CHS and its volunteer community

Our Information and Performance team

The Information and Performance team comprises of Data & Evidence Officer, IG & Data Protection Officer, IG Records Officer and yourself as the Information and Performance Lead. You will be responsible for the management of the three officers in the team. The Team provides high quality expertise and collaborates with a wide range of national stakeholders.

At the core of CHS’s work is a shared vision that everything we do enhances the rights of children. We aim to be strategic, credible, influential and drive change.

Life at CHS

Our 2,500 volunteer Panel Members take part in children’s hearings in their local areas, making decisions with and for children. Our organisation also supports a network of 22 Area Support Teams made up of 400 volunteers who support Panel Members in their local communities.

As an organisation that works within the children’s hearings system, we are passionate about making a positive contribution to improving outcomes for children.
