Clydebank Women’s Aid are excited to announce a vacancy within our organisation for a woman to join our feminist collective as a Women’s Support Worker and Collective Manager. This role will undertake the provision of emotional and practical support to women who have experienced domestic abuse on a refuge, drop in and outreach basis. This is a new and unique opportunity to work within the rare collective management structure and share the responsibility of delivering a confidential, non-judgemental and high quality service.

Clydebank Women’s Aid, born from the grassroots feminists movement, was founded in 1981 in response to women’s position in society - 40 years later we retain these core values. As one of the first voluntary sector organisations within this area, we remain commited to supporting women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse, providing training and challenging the myths and attitudes surrounding domestic abuse.

Feminism is at the root of all the work Clydebank Women’s Aid undertakes and it is therefore integral that women applying for this role identify as such. As both a Women’s Support Worker and Collective Manager a clear understanding of collective working is fundamental. The successful applicant will be committed to working collectively, will be able to take direction from other collective managers and actively demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.

This post is subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check.
