COSLA’S EMPLOYABILITY AND FAIR WORK POLICY MANAGER

Join us in implementing the Scottish and Local Government's 'Partnership Working Agreement for Employability,' a commitment to creating a flexible and person-centred employability system. Our aim is to provide effective support to vulnerable individuals facing barriers to employment, including the long term unemployed and those requiring additional assistance.

By adopting a mixed economy of provision and fostering effective local partnership working, we are revolutionising the delivery of employability services. Our approach aligns with key priorities set out in the Programme for Government, National Performance Framework, Best Start Bright Futures Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2022-26, and the National Strategy for Economic Transformation.

We recognise that achieving sustainable employability outcomes requires collaboration across various services and partners. No single agency or service can do it alone, especially for clients with complex needs. Therefore, the enhanced local authority employability services focus on joining up support, increasing prevention measures, and improving outcomes for individuals and public service delivery.

As the post holder, you will work closely with national partners, including SOLACE, the Improvement Service, SLAED, and COSLA's member councils. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Scottish Government and other national stakeholders. Join us in creating an employability system that is adaptable, easy to navigate, and responsive to labour market demands, ensuring no one is left behind.
