Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
Working within the Leisure & Sport section of LACD, you will manage the Membership Team to provide a comprehensive membership service to all of Leisure & Sport’s members, including Leisureactive, Golf Dundee and Active Lifestyle. You will work 37 hours per week and will be based at L&CD HQ on Shore Terrace.
In addition to this you will lead on development and procurement of fitness facilities and associated equipment across the Leisure and Sport fitness centre portfolio. You will manage fitness staff to include fitness instructors and the adult class activity programme to enhance the fitness service and increase member numbers.
This role requires an individual who is passionate about fitness, service and product and is incredibly hands on and prepared to lead from the front. You must have a real passion for the industry and enjoy motivating members and creating a world class fitness experience.
This role is about delivering impressive results and introducing new operational and sales strategies. It means solving numerous challenges - financial, client sales and people management - while ensuring the effective delivery of fitness services across the Leisure and Sport portfolio.
You should have an HND or equivalent in Business Management or related field or have relevant workplace experience.
You will lead the strategic promotion and development of leisure, golf, concession and other membership schemes within the Leisure and Sport service of Leisure and Culture Dundee. You will manage the membership team to grow and maintain memberships, ensuring a competitive, compelling membership proposition.
You will lead the development of a multisite fitness offering through the design and operation of fitness studios and services. You will promote and deliver an exciting fitness service, offering variation throughout 8 sites to help improve attrition and retention rates.
You will have experience of developing and promoting membership schemes including how to best market and promote the brand. You must have management experience of staff with the evidence of developing and implementing new initiatives. You must have a fitness background and knowledge of the current fitness industry.
You must have financial management skills, excellent organisational and communication skills. You should have excellent people skills with the drive to develop and improve customer service.
You should have experience in working with databases and office systems and procedures.
