Project Officer – Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (FASTER)

Location: at a HITRANS partner Council Office across the Highlands and Islands with travel required across the area and to attend meetings in other partner areas.

Salary: £26,041 - £29,721 (SCP 49, 52, 57)

Contract: Fixed term (24 months)

Position: Full Time (35 hours per week)

Scotland’s Highlands and Islands are known for their unique landscapes and environment, where there are challenges to reconcile good transport connectivity whilst reducing the regions carbon footprint.

To build on this, HITRANS is recruiting the post of a Project Officer to support the delivery of an ERDF funded project called FASTER which involves the installation of new Electric Vehicle charging points across the West Highlands and Islands to help improve the charging network across the area and support the transition to ULEV in the region. This will include assisting the implementation of the project programme and helping to assess the feasibility of the new projects; and reporting to the Lead Partner and Managing Authority.

The post holder will be responsible for supporting the Partnership in securing the delivery of the priorities set out by the FASTER Project which is a project supported by European Union’s INTERREG VA Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)

The post holder will work closely with a range of partners including the Transport Scotland, FASTER Project partners, the Scottish Government, Councils and community groups.

The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or have considerable relevant experience, have the ability to build relationships with partners, supporters and the general public, have an understanding of the Scottish Islands and the distinctive needs and opportunities in relation to the objectives of the project proposal and experience in transport planning, transport operations, sustainable transport, European funding.
