This position is being offered on a fixed term basis until 29 March 2024 as part of a service review.

The Role

The Retirement Housing Officer is responsible for providing a Retirement Housing Service to tenants living in developments managed by Link Housing and contribute to the general housing management service to tenants in accordance with Housing Services policies and procedures.

They will also develop and sustain effective working relationships with Retirement Housing tenants, promoting tenancy sustainment and encouraging independent living and signposting to other agencies for specialist advice/support.

The Retirement Housing Officer will encourage tenant involvement and engagement in making full use of facilities within the development and be responsible for the management of the safety and security of Retirement Housing developments.

About You

You should have a good standard of education combined with experience of providing a customer focused service in a housing or similar environment, experience of providing housing management services in a social rented or similar environment and experience of working effectively with partner organisations. You will also have a commitment to enabling older people to achieve maximum independence and knowledge of welfare benefits particularly for older people.

The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, to organise own workload to achieve priorities and objectives and to work effectively on an individual basis or as part of a team. You will also need good IT skills including the ability to use email, Microsoft Office and ability to learn in house IT systems essential to business requirements along with the ability to work in a pressurised work environment and deal effectively with matters of security and tenant safety.

You will be required to provide cover in other developments, so must hold a current driver’s licence and have your own transport during office hours.
