Job Title: Development Management Planner

Location: Balloch, with hybrid working model in place

Salary: £27,130 - £38,601 - Band C or D depending on experience

Hours: 35 hours per week, but we are happy to talk flexible working

Status: 1-year fixed term (Maternity Cover)

Our award-winning planning service handles a wide range of varied planning applications, from a gold mine to affordable housing developments, run of river hydro schemes and major hotel and tourism development - there is a lot going on. Interest in development within the National Park has remained high through the pandemic, as have application numbers. This is your opportunity to join our award-winning planning service and make a difference for future generations.

The Role:

This is an exciting time to join our team, we are looking for someone who can handle a diverse range of planning applications as well as contribute to supporting processes, deliver timeous planning decisions which contribute to wider National Park Authority outcomes and support the wider Statutory Planning function - including contributing or leading projects, service improvements and innovative delivery of services. Who we are looking for:

Your skills, abilities and experience should include:

· Degree or equivalent in Planning or a related discipline

· Corporate membership of RTPI (or at an advanced stage towards)

· Current UK driving Licence (or access to a driver if disability prevents driving).

· Demonstratable relevant experience in the development management service

· Knowledge and experience of rural planning issues

· Excellent interpersonal skills

Ideally you will also have an up-to-date knowledge of the Scottish Environmental and Planning Sector.

Please note, if you have a lesser qualification or experience there may still be an opportunity to be considered at a grade appropriate to your experience.
