Activity Officer – Maybole Regeneration Project

The Maybole Regeneration (MR) Project is a partnership initiative led jointly by Maybole Community Council and South Ayrshire Council.

The built heritage of Maybole is highly significant. The town’s Outstanding Conservation Area was designated in 1974 and today contains over 40 listed buildings. Alongside this, the town has a long and varied history dating back to the 12th century.

MR is a Townscape Heritage and Conservation Area Regeneration project. It aims to create an attractive, safe and sustainable town centre. MR will provide resources for conservation / restoration work to a range of significant buildings in Maybole, and a programme of activities to encourage engagement with the heritage of the town. An Activity Officer is required to support the Partners as they develop a 2nd Stage bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund and other funding bodies.

The post is offered on a temporary, self-employed basis, with a contract end date of March 2018.

A second post of Project Officer is also being recruited. The Activity Officer and Project Officer will be expected to work closely together.

Funding for this phase of the project, including this post, has been awarded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, Ayrshire LEADER, North Carrick Community Benefit Company and South Ayrshire Council.

Should you require further information, please contact: Claire Monaghan, Head of Communities, South Ayrshire Council on claire.monaghan@south-ayrshire.gov.uk or 01292 612757.
