The team People, Solutions and Experience are a team within the Human Resources and Workforce Development Department, and we aim to provide an excellent service in all aspects of employment, from prior to commencement of employment and throughout the employment lifecycle of all staff. This includes providing a wide range of professional services such as recruitment, terms and conditions of service and policy, advice and guidance.

The vacancy:

We currently have a 6 month Fixed term / Secondment opportunity within the Recruitment team:

Duties of the job role include:

• Posting of adverts to Job Train system

• Assisting Hiring Manager with shortlisting

• Ensuring all pre-employment checks are completed in line with organisations policy

• Carrying out eligibility to work checks on applicants

• On-boarding the candidate onto our HR systems – eESS

• Issuing employment contracts to candidates

• Dealing with incoming recruitment queries through our call handling portal Service Now

• Various other ad-hoc Recruitment Admin duties as required

• Liaising with Hiring Manager and Candidate through the process

The candidate:

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, written and verbal, combined with excellent organisational and time-management skills to join the team. You should also have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, customer service environment and possess good decision-making skills.

A good understanding of HR practices and a professional, confident and flexible approach is essential to balance the needs of the customers with the requirement to adhere to policy and process. Experience in dealing with the end to end recruitment process is desirable.

You should be working towards full Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Accreditation or have an equivalent level of experience in a multi-disciplined human resources environment.

Additionally, you should have experience of HR systems and be computer literate with standard Microsoft packages.

The post will be based in Edinburgh or Glasgow, but travel to other NSS sites to attend meetings will be required. As per the Scottish Government advice around COVID 19 we are currently working from home.

The successful candidate must comply with the Mandatory Induction Standards and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers
