Leisure Attendant Wet (5 posts) (Fixed Term)

Nominal Salary - £16,898 to £21,759 (pro rata)

Your main task will be to assist our customers within one of our sports venue and ensure that they enjoy their visit. The customers’ safety, especially within the pool area, will be your main responsibility.

You will be a strong swimmer and will be required to undergo appropriate training to obtain the appropriate RLSS pool lifeguarding qualification. A variety of tasks will be undertaken in relation to the efficient operation of the venue including general cleaning duties, setting out equipment and preparation for events.

You will work as part of a team, be neat and tidy in appearance, have a pleasant manner, good communication skills and a helpful approach when dealing with our customers.

As a requirement of these posts, the successful candidates must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Group (PVG) membership through Disclosure Scotland. If the successful candidates are currently a PVG Scheme member the cost of a "Scheme Update" of £18 is met by NLL Ltd. If the successful candidates are not a PVG Scheme member the fees for PVG membership of £59 is shared - the successful candidates will pay £41 and NLL Ltd will pay £18.

Post 3 – Wishaw Sports Centre (30 hours) (Fixed Term) NLL 3/18

Post 4 – Shotts Leisure Centre (20 hours) (Fixed Term) NLL 4/18

Post 5 – Tryst Sports Centre, Cumbernauld (20 hours) (Fixed Term) NLL 5/18

Pattern of hours: You will be required to work these hours flexibly over 7 days

These posts are fixed term for a period of up to 6 months.

Interview Details

The format of the Assessment Centre will be a pool test followed by group exercises and if you are successful, you will be invited to attend a short interview later in the day.

For the pool test you must be able, prior to commencement of training for the NPLQ, meet the following criteria:

  • Be 16 years of age at time of assessment:

  • Jump / dive into deep water

  • Swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds

  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water

  • Tread water for 30 seconds

  • Surface dive to the deepest part of the pool floor

  • Climb out unaided without ladder/ steps and where the pool design permits
