Advocacy and Campaigns Officer

Salary: 35 hours per week circa £25,000 +5% Contributory Pension + 30 days annual leave /15 days public holidays

Based in our Glasgow Office

The Advocacy and Campaigns Officer will assist the Advocacy and Campaigns Project Lead with developing and implementing Positive Action in Housing’s campaign strategy.

The post holder will work with Positive Action in Housing staff, volunteers, and clients to identify issues facing our beneficiaries and formulate effective campaigns to challenge the root cause of these problems at both the national and regional level. The postholder will work with other partner organisations to give sustained and consistent attention to policy developments, beginning with the Nationality and Borders Bill, and to formulate evidence-based responses. Key to this role will be lobbying MP’s and local authorities and build connections with other organisations with similar aims.

The postholders will work to strengthen our social media strategy to call attention to policy weaknesses and increase the impact of our engagement with the media and members of the public. We are looking for someone who is warm, positive, creative, and accountable with the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with clients, staff, partner organisations, and other key stakeholders.
