Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for local government in Scotland. Established in 2008, we are an award-winning shared service working in partnership with Scotland’s 32 local authorities and other public sector stakeholders.

At Scotland Excel we are leaders of change. Over the past nine years, we have helped to raise the profile of procurement in local authorities by championing its potential to shape markets, support policy priorities and, ultimately, ensure the sustainable delivery of the services that every community needs.

This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet for our organisation. In 2015, we set out a clear vision in our three year strategy to deliver more and better services for our customers and partners. As a result, we are now entering a period of significant growth that will see us extend our range of services to local authorities and introduce a new procurement programme for social landlords.

This programme has been designed to help housing associations realise the benefits of collaborative procurement, respond to recent legislative changes, and improve their procurement performance. As Senior Client Services Specialist, you will play a key role in the programme’s success and lay solid foundations for sustainable service delivery beyond its initial two years.

You will bring extensive stakeholder management experience to build and manage positive relationships at all levels within the housing sector. Your excellent data analysis skills will identify opportunities for savings and benefits through the use of existing national collaborative contracts or the development of new contracts.

You will undertake assessments to benchmark procurement performance, and support housing associations with the development and implementation of improvement programmes. You will provide information and advice on key public procurement areas, and identify opportunities for stakeholders to increase their knowledge of these through Scotland Excel educational programmes.

In return, you will have the opportunity to progress your career in a leading shared service organisation with ambitious growth plans. You will work with friendly, like-minded colleagues who get real satisfaction from supporting the delivery of essential public services and bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to our communities.

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
