Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for local government in Scotland. Established in 2008, we are an award-winning shared service working in partnership with Scotland’s 32 local authorities and other public sector stakeholders.

At Scotland Excel we are leaders of change. Over the past nine years, we have helped to raise the profile of procurement in local authorities by championing its potential to shape markets, support policy priorities and, ultimately, ensure the sustainable delivery of the services that every community needs.

This year promises to be one of the most exciting yet for our organisation. In 2015, we set out a clear vision in our three year strategy to deliver more and better services for our customers and partners. As a result, we are now entering a period of significant growth that will see us extend our range of services to local authorities and introduce a new procurement programme for social landlords.

Construction is a key growth area in our £726m contract portfolio, and the launch of a new £200m framework for energy efficiency contractors in May will be of benefit to both local authorities and housing associations. As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will capitalise on your significant experience of construction procurement to ensure the ongoing success of this major new contract.

Your exceptional stakeholder engagement skills will strengthen relationships with our customers and your commercial approach will maximise the value delivered by our suppliers. A natural leader, you will get the best from colleagues working with you to deliver collaborative contracts.

In return, you will have the opportunity to progress your career in a leading procurement organisation operating across a diverse range of category areas. You will work with friendly, like-minded colleagues who get real satisfaction from supporting the delivery of essential public services and bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to our communities.

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
