Scotland Excel is the Centre of Procurement Expertise for local government in Scotland. Established in 2008, we are an award-winning shared service working in partnership with Scotland’s 32 local authorities and other public sector stakeholders.

At Scotland Excel we are leaders of change. Over the past nine years, we have helped to raise the profile of procurement in local authorities by championing its potential to shape markets, support policy priorities and, ultimately, ensure the sustainable delivery of the services that every community needs.

Our Social Care team has played a key part in our organisation’s success through the development of ground-breaking national care frameworks. By providing a better understanding of costs, and bringing transparency and consistency to services, our team has helped ensure that services can be better matched to peoples’ needs.

Building on our established portfolio of frameworks for a wide range of children’s and adult services, we are delighted to have secured additional funding to continue and extend our recent work for older people’s care home services. We will also be working with partner organisations to explore collaborative opportunities across adult supported living and care at home.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will use your knowledge of the social care sector to develop and manage innovative sourcing strategies and procurement solutions that deliver value to our customers. With a particular focus on understanding the market for adult and older people’s services, your goal will be to increase value and support care quality at an affordable cost.

Your exceptional stakeholder engagement skills will strengthen relationships with the wide range of stakeholders involved in social care including service providers. A natural leader, you will get the best from colleagues working with you to deliver social care contracts and services.

In return, you will have the opportunity to progress your career in a leading procurement organisation operating across a diverse range of category areas. You will work with friendly, like-minded colleagues who get real satisfaction from supporting the delivery of essential public services and bringing social, economic and environmental benefits to our communities.

As well as a competitive salary, you will have access to all the benefits of working for a public sector organisation including a defined benefits pension scheme, generous holiday allowance, flexible working and a range of other initiatives which reflect our commitment to creating a positive work-life balance for all our employees.
