We have a fantastic opportunity for a senior software developer to be an integral member of the software engineering leadership team that drives the development of new online services.

You and your team will work alongside product owners, user researchers, service designers, UX designers, architects and testers to bring new approaches to life.

You’ll be expected take a hands-on role in developing new online services and be a line manager for a multi skilled software development team.

The qualities you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who successfully combines technical knowledge with leadership skills. A leader who spends at least 70% of their time writing excellent code, setting high standards for the rest of the software development team.

You’ll have expert knowledge across a range of development and integration technologies, such as C#, .Net Core 1.1, ASP.NET MVC, JSON REST APIs. You and your team will be developing for Microsoft Azure Cloud using Azure Microservices, Service Bus, SQL Azure, Blob storage, Azure AD B2C and using front end technologies such as, Angular JS 2.0, T Script, Jquery.

Your ability to cope with issues calmly and professionally will make you an inspiring leader for your team.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be part of the software engineering technical leadership team jointly architecting the design and development of new online services.

You’ll set a leadership example by writing highly secure, scaleable best practice code, hand-in-hand with your software development team. You’ll be a great listener and coach for your team and know when to help your colleagues overcome challenges they face.

You’ll recruit colleagues who are exceptionally talented and fit the culture of Scottish Enterprise. You’ll ensure your team possesses and develops the right skills by understanding the requirements and roadmap of the products we are building.
