We are looking for a Head of Service to work within Business Development in our Contract Operations team.

The successful candidate will be required to support SQA’s strategy and success by developing, leading and managing the Contract Operations business area within the Business Development Directorate. In order to do this you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:

  • Lead the business area to deliver a robust service to customers by planning effective mobilisation and developing and implementing effective processes and procedures for secure, effective delivery and client management of contracts.
  • Initiate, manage and lead an ongoing programme of delivery management initiatives and activities in order to optimise SQA’s chances of success in retaining secured business.
  • In conjunction with business colleagues and the Director, implement, evaluate and continuously improve processes to ensure the business continues to focus on building the right capabilities in support of the overall delivery of SQA’s corporate and operational objectives.

Additionally you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • A thorough and up to date knowledge of business development and bid management practices.
  • Experience of strategic management and development, and delivery of operational objectives
  • Effective, credible and authoritative communication skills at a senior level including effective negotiation and influencing skills.

Applicants, as a minimum, should be educated to SCQF Level 9 (Ordinary Degree/SVQ 4) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
