About the role

Due to internal secondment, a vacancy has arisen within our Performance and Improvement department as the Change and Improvement Coordinator.

You will deliver a range of quality management and change activities including service improvement, service re-design reviews and other initiatives. You will work with departments and teams across the organisation to identify, appraise and implement innovative, cost-effective and customer-focused service delivery models and demonstrate their contribution to delivering the Scottish Social Services Council’s (SSSC) strategic outcomes and business plans.

Who we are

We are the independent regulator for social service workers in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on social work, social care and early years services being provided by a trusted, skilled and confident workforce.

We protect the public by registering social work, social care and early years workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.

What you need to succeed

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in a range of quality management and improvement methodologies.
  • Experienced in gathering, interpreting and using business intelligence to support change and improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in customer service improvement work and techniques.
  • Aware of the regulatory and social services policy landscape.
  • Able to work proactively, autonomously and be self-motivating.
  • Able to engage effectively and maintain relationships.

Why work for us

We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service). Please note new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range.

You can find out more about the benefits of working here on our website.

Our office is in Dundee but we encourage remote working. We are developing our agile working policy and are happy to discuss individual arrangements and consider agile working as an option, depending on job requirements (such as being in the office for training events and meetings) and meeting the eligibility criteria determined by the new policy. We welcome applications from candidates outside Dundee and the surrounding areas.

Living in Dundee

Scotland’s sunniest city, Dundee is the UK’s first UNESCO City of Design and made Lonely Planet’s top 10 European hotspots in 2018 for its growing cultur al scene and the transformation of the city’s historic waterfront. Dundee also made the National Geographic 2019 ‘must see cool list’.

Our offices are on the banks of the River Tay, right at the heart of the redesigned waterfront, close to the railway station and bus links and on the Green Circular cycle path, which goes right around the city.

We are next door to the new V&A Dundee and Captain Scott’s famous ship, RRS Discovery, built here in 1900. The city is a great shopping destination, surrounded by many eateries and bars. It is also rich in scenery with lovely beaches and parks.

We believe that the SSSC and Dundee offer a great place to begin or expand your career.
