About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual to take our digital services to the next level.

You will lead our skilled team making sure we are at the forefront of transformational digital delivery and meeting the Scottish Government’s Digital First Standards.

You will drive our rolling digital transformation across our customer base, including Cloud and Platform, Digital Customer Support and Application Support.

You will deliver our ambitious plans for developing front line customer services, strategic and operational capability, systems development and management of internally hosted and third-party services.

You will be a natural relationship builder, demonstrating vision, creativity and innovation with the ability to inspire and empower people to work together.

Who we are

We are the independent regulator for the social work, social care and early years workforce in Scotland. Our work means the people of Scotland can count on these services being provided by a trusted, skilled, valued and confident workforce.

We protect the public by registering social work, social care and early years workers, setting standards for their practice, conduct, training and education and by supporting their professional development. Where people fall below the standards of practice and conduct, we can investigate and take action.

What you need to succeed

You will:

  • have outstanding interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence in service delivery are a must for this role
  • have a dynamic approach to engaging and motivating people and will work confidently and effectively at a senior level
  • have a successful track record of leading, managing and developing teams and a sound understanding of the relevant legislation and government policies affecting the SSSC and how they apply to our work.

Shape our digital future

The SSSC has ambitious plans for developing our customer services, our strategic and operational capability, systems development and management of internally hosted and third-party services. Challenges range from service design and our rolling transformational change programme to managing core infrastructure and platforms and allocating resources to meet the needs of the business.

Managing critical incidents and problems and embedding change wherever required, you will make sure our digital services, technical platforms and infrastructure hosting environments are always reliable and available, which in turn will contribute to delivery of the SSSC strategic outcomes.

Why work for us

We are an ambitious, enthusiastic and supportive organisation. With around 300 employees, you can really make an impact here. We offer a generous salary, flexible working arrangements, a full range of benefits, local government pension scheme and up to 43 days holiday (dependent on service).

Please note new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range.

You can find out more about the benefits of working here on our website.

Our office is in Dundee but this role is home based as we develop our agile working policy. We encourage remote working and support a less office-based working style.

We welcome applications from candidates outwith Dundee and the surrounding areas.
