Sistema Scotland is seeking a Curriculum Leader to join the team, working with early years (babies to primary 2).

This is an opportunity to join Sistema Scotland as part of a dynamic team, delivering a visionary, socially driven music programme. You will work closely with the Director of Music and other Curriculum Leaders to promote best practice in the delivery and development of the Big Noise curriculum. Alongside curriculum development, your role will involve teaching early years classes, supporting and mentoring colleagues in early years delivery and delivering training.

We are looking for a creative, socially driven individual to join our team of Curriculum Leaders. The successful candidate will have a growth-mindset approach and understand the power of music in developing wider social skills. You will recognise the critical role early years music delivery plays in setting foundations that enable children to flourish in Big Noise orchestras and ensembles as they progress through the programme

As we continue work to review our curriculum from an anti-racist perspective we welcome applications from candidates with experience of anti-racist approaches and/or de-colonising the music curriculum. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with a global majority background.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have experience of working with large and varied groups of children along with a track record of success in giving music instruction to children. You will have experience of positive engagement in the creation and development of curriculum for children and be up to date with current educational practice as well as knowledge of current issues regarding music, community development and/or education in Scotland. You will also have a working knowledge of appropriate pedagogic approaches relevant to your area of expertise.

This is a permanent post and is offered on a basis of 2 or 3 days per week, all year round. (Hours for internal candidates would be a minimum of 3 days up to a maximum of 4.5 days). The post can be based within any of our Big Noise centres, but travel will be required between all five centres.

We welcome applications from all nationalities; however, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role, so before you apply for this post please ensure that you have the right to work in the UK. For more details on eligibility to work in the UK, please visit https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa.

All successful applicants will be subject to PVG check.

Closing date for all applications is 3rd February 2023 at 10am

The selection process (including a panel interview and demonstration lesson) will be held in Raploch, date to be confirmed
