This pioneering programme drew its initial inspiration from El Sistema in Venezuela and our vision is to transform lives with music. We deliver on our vision through the creation of Big Noise programmes within communities. Since its inception in 2007, the programme has grown and developed into a multi - faceted and immersive music education and social development programme which uses the orchestra as a learning community. We currently run programmes in Raploch (Stirling), Govanhill (Glasgow) and Torry (Aberdeen). We plan to open a fourth centre in Douglas (Dundee) during 2017.

This post is specifically to design and deliver a series of events to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the creation of Big Noise and specifically Big Noise Raploch. Big Noise Raploch first opened its doors in April 2008. What started with a core committed 35 children in the community has grown to having 500 children and young people who attend weekly, from birth through to young adults, committing time to invest in themselves and their communities. They are becoming young ambassadors, young teachers and young leaders. This is an opportunity to work directly with these young people and the community to celebrate their achievements and tell their story, and how Big Noise Raploch was the model which led to the involvement of other communities in Scotland. 2018 is also the Year of Young People in Scotland so it is anticipated that some of the celebrations will link to this national year of celebration

An experienced project manager, you will work with colleagues in Sistema Scotland, the Big Noise Raploch community, community and external organisation partners, so you must also be an excellent communicator with a track record of successful partnership working.

This is a part time post working 3 days a week and will be offered on a fixed term basis until 31 March 2019.
