About the Role
The key role of the Procurement specialist is to deliver transparent and open procurements in a legally compliant manner to meet the requirements of their internal customers.
The majority of SDS’ business activities are conducted by third party organisations who we engage with contractually. The role will be responsible for supporting a number of Directorates within SDS in ensuring robust contractual arrangements are in place with third party suppliers.
These are full-time, permanent roles based in Glasgow. Under current Covid restrictions, the successful applicants are expected to work from home; following relaxation of these restrictions there will be a requirement for hybrid working utilising both home and office working.

About You
In terms of experience, you should be educated to degree level, qualified to SQCF level 9, or qualified by experience and either hold the CIPS Level 4 Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, be working towards it or be committed to doing so once in post.
Conducting various research tasks, you’ll use your numerical and analytical skills review market intelligence to ensure that contracts placed provide best value.
With an interesting and varied workload, you’ll use your organisational skills to prioritise a conflicting workload within a changing environment.
Advanced computing skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint are also essential for the role.
