Job Description

Counselling and Bereavement Support Manager

Band 7 Hospice Scale £32,013 - £42,205 per annum + Pension

Full-time 37.50 hours per week (part-time or job-share will be considered)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and experienced Counselling and Bereavement Support Manager with considerable professional experience to join our growing team. Part of the multidisciplinary team, the counselling and bereavement support service is integral to the holistic care provided to people and their families at St Columba’s.

The role of the Supportive Care Team is to support people to live as they choose, to be where they want to be, as independently as possible, for as long as they can, and provide the opportunity to (re)discover hope and peace as they approach the end of their life, or live with bereavement.

You will have excellent communication skills and your integrity, warmth, maturity, sensitivity, and sense of humour will be demonstrated in practice. You will possess a robust sense of self and self-awareness, and be approachable and compassionate. You will have proven leadership qualities, work well within a team, and relish working with volunteers and innovating.

With a proven track record of management, you will be instrumental in the development of counselling and bereavement support services. You will be involved in building on a firm foundation to widen access and develop new practice as you work with adults who are living with palliative care illness, facing end of life and experiencing bereavement.

For an informal discussion about the post or to arrange a visit, please call Becky Chaddock, Head of Supportive Care, on 0131 551 1381
