Who we are looking for!

Here you are! Another day at school! Time to go home!

Remember how proud you were when you landed that great job at that school? And now? Well, work’s okay, colleagues are quite nice, and office parties get pleasantly out of hand at times. Of course you are keeping your eyes open for job opportunities, you want something else. You’re looking for a new energy in yourself and your school experience… that’s great, especially if you have the confidence and ability to teach our youngsters!

Are you looking for a new role in Teaching that is challenging, flexible, rewarding, dynamic and unlike anything you have ever encountered before? Working with us will give you the experience to work anywhere with young people, come and learn from the best in the field.

Do you have a fabulous or even wacky sense of humour and able to plan and assess pupil learning? Do you have the ability to communicate with parents or guardians, and find the excellence in challenging youngsters to their full potential?

Are you an exceptional individual, a passionate teacher, able to motivate young people disillusioned with education? St Mary’s Kenmure is an independent Secure Care facility, which addresses the Education & Care needs of up to 24 young people aged between 12-18 years, who are subject to a Secure Residential Order or have been placed here by the Courts.

If you can answer yes to any or all of the above, then we would like to meet you to and offer you a chance to be considered as a member of our Teaching team here in St Mary’s Kenmure. We are looking for a creative individual to teach English, with no requirement to mark 100+ S1 essays on your weekend! You will however, gain valuable experience in managing your own budget, resources and course content.

We also support opportunities for you to teach other subjects and activities in which you are interested!

We are a tight knit group of 9 teachers working in small classes of up to 4, with additional support staff and systems, and we are looking for an individual who will embrace the challenge of a single teacher department with flexibility, determination and imagination!

You must be registerable with the GTC Scotland.
