Assistant Engineer, Scotland (Ref: SUS2317)

£21.965 - £24,586 per annum

(dependent on relevant skills and experience)

37.5 hours per week – based in Edinburgh

This stimulating and exciting role is to assist in all aspects of planning, designing, constructing, repairing and up-grading walking and cycling routes and links, and developing the National Cycle Network (NCN) in Scotland. Duties will also include assisting the Street Design team in delivering community focussed projects and technical support for other internal teams.

With an HNC / HND / degree in civil engineering or traffic engineering or equivalent and experience of civil engineering design, you will be an excellent communicator and have knowledge of the execution of civil engineering contracts. With experience of working with contractors/consultants and health and safety legislation, you will have the ability to build relationships and work independently, making decisions with minimal supervision. You will also be IT literate, hold a full UK driving license and committed to the promotion of sustainable transport.
