Are you a dynamic, forward-thinking individual with the motivation to deliver a new service in a unique setting and contribute to its on-growing growth?

If the answer is yes, then we have a truly exciting opportunity for you. Braid Health and Wellbeing is a specialist day care centre in West Lothian which supports older people with the ageing process. We work predominantly with individuals and their carers who

have dementia, but we are expanding our services to meet the needs of a younger and more diverse clientele.

As a service we have recently undertaking a major redesign and improvement programme and are now delivering innovative approaches in supporting our clients and the local community. The next step in these developments has been the creation of a ‘Living Well’ Centre including Light and Dark Sensory rooms, A fully functional Kitchen dedicated to 1:1 or small group work, therapeutic rooms and a fully equipped, functional assessment suit.

Our new occupational therapist will be, first and foremost, a member of our dynamic team of carers supporting our clients with dementia and other age-related conditions, but they will also contribute and lead on our Living Well centre growth plans by developing interventions which help to, restore, or maintain an optimum, realistic level of independence whilst supporting their carers and other interested parties that anyone can access. For the right person this is a unique opportunity to develop new services and new approaches for an historically underrepresented and under-recognised service, as well as retaining direct client interventions.

Any person joining our team would need to follow and hold our values of:

  • Person Centred
  • Compassion
  • Supportive
  • Empowering

We are looking to employ a Band 5-6 Occupational therapist, initially on a fixed-term contract for a year with the possibility of this being extended. Salary of £40,000 pro rata, dependant on experience and qualifications.
