About The Role

We have a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly experienced, caring, compassionate and professionally talented Service Leader to join our established and expanding management team in Glasgow.

As Service Leader you will lead and manage a team of 32 frontline colleagues working across multiple sites to make a real difference to the lives of the 8 people we support, enabling them to live independently in their own home and access their local community. You will lead and manage services for adults of varying ages with profound learning disabilities and mental health concerns. Some of them will be non-verbal, registered blind and have behaviours that can challenge. You will support the team to meet the clinical needs of the people supported, including epilepsy management, PEG feeding and moving and positioning if they are non-ambulant. The successful individual will be responsible for designing and implementing new models of care, bringing innovation and creativity to the lives of the people we support.

The Service Leader will report to the Regional Manager and will be responsible for the daily management of the services and their staff teams. They will be responsible for ensuring staff teams are suitably trained, well supported and supervised, having the tools to carry out their role to the best of their ability. They will also be responsible and accountable for the management of the services, ensuring that all aspects of support and service delivery are focused on meeting the needs and preferences of the people we support. This includes having involvement in the creation and auditing of care and support plans, risk assessments and other safe systems of work.

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience managing a large scale, complex independent living service. They must also have experience with Positive Behavioural Support (PBS). A nursing or clinical background would be highly advantageous.

A current UK driving license is essential for this role.

About You

The successful candidate will have effective communication, leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. They will be responsible for working with both internal and external partners including other healthcare professionals and family members. He or she will also be committed to person-centred planning, supporting positive risk taking, positive behaviour support (PBS) and best practice for individual reviews.

The successful candidate will be required to register with the SSSC if they are not already registered or hold an appropriate registration. They will also be required to have, or undertake, a SVQ 4 or equivalent qualification to meet the conditions of their registration.
