​​​​​​​We're looking for calm and patient colleagues with initiative to join our busy Community Support service as Support Practitioners in East Dunbartonshire.

​​​​​​​Our current rate of pay is £10.02 per hour, but we have an exciting pay award pending of £10.50 per hour which will be backdated to 1st April 2022.​​​​​​​

The Role

This is an exciting, varied role, where no two days are the same! As a Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in supporting these individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, personal care, managing personal finances and assisting with medication. You will also support them to the things they want to do out in the community, for example shopping, education or employment and to pursue their hobbies and interests. You’ll play a role in helping people that have become socially isolated to rebuild links with their local communities and offer practical help or advice to families who are affected by looking after a loved one. The role will involve mostly lone-working, however some 2:1 support will be required.

As travel will be required throughout East Dunbartonshire, it is preferable that you hold a full, clean UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle. However, this is not essential.

Shift Patterns

Your normal hours of work will be between 8.00 am and 8:30 pm and will be a mix of split shifts, shorter shifts and longer blocks of support. You will be expected to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of your rota. Our service currently runs Monday to Friday.

​​​​​​​If you’re successful in joining our team, you will be expected to join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and must be willing to work towards a SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare as required for SSSC registration. We will need you to register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting your employment with us.
