Are you on the look out for a job with satisfaction you'd struggle to find anywhere else?

Our amazing #TeamDrum in Dunfermline are now on the look out for a new caring, patient and flexible colleague to join them on a permanent (16 hours per week) basis. We also have relief opportunities too if you're looking for something a bit more flexible.

The Role

The great thing about this job is that no two days are ever the same. You'll become part of a friendly, supportive team who support four amazing ladies who have profound and complex needs. Your base will be within the ladies' fully adapted, purpose built home in Dunfermline, which is complete with ceiling hoists and adaptive technology.

As a Support Practitioner, you'll assist with all aspects of the ladies' daily living, including going to appointments, meal preparation, finances and housework. Three of the ladies do use wheelchairs, so you will provide support with all aspects of their personal care too. The ladies are all non-verbal and have limited communication, so getting to know them will take time but once you do, you'll find the job and their company so rewarding.

Our team enjoy encouraging the ladies to live a valued life and get the opportunity to have a variety of experiences. They plan lots of days out and arrange a number of activities in their home, from arts and crafts to alpaca visits.

The ladies have their own mobility cars so it would be great if you have a full, clean manual UK driving licence, but this isn’t a deal breaker for the right candidate.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference to the lives of others with a bubbly and outgoing nature and can think creatively when planning activities. The ladies have their own car so it would be great if you have a full, manual UK driving licence, but this isn’t a deal breaker for the right candidate!

We recruit on values and transferrable skills, so you don't need experience or qualifications to start your career with us. We'll pay you for your training and give you all the practical skills that you'll need. We'll even fund your SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) qualification and yearly SSSC registration fees too!

What we need you to bring: -

  • Good communication skills
  • A caring attitude and approach
  • A positive approach to learning
  • Good team working skills with the ability to work on your own initiative
  • Confidence in the use of computers

Shift Patterns

Our dedicated team provide 24 hour support with shifts usually falling into patterns between the hours of 0700-2200 hours. Waking nights, sleepovers, weekends and public holidays would also form part of your rota on a rotational basis. Shifts may occasionally vary depending on the needs of the people we support and activities planned.

Our sleepovers are not included in your contracted hours, so you will receive an additional £96 for every sleepover you work. Waking nights are paid at your normal hourly rate plus an additional supplement per waking night worked.

Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!

Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and be committed to working towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with the support from our Training Academy.

If you’re successful in joining our team, we will need you to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting your employment with us.
