Support Workers

Salary: £12 per hour + Benefits

Service: North Ayrshire Supported Living Service – Community Based Services

Hours: Full-time and Part-time positions available

We are looking for creative, caring and compassionate people to join our team.

At NASL we provide supports to a number of people living in their own homes across north Ayrshire. Our supports provide each person whatever assistance they need, to live as independently as they can, be part of their community, and build and maintain relationships and friendships.

We enable the people we support to have the best possible life they can. Most supports are carried out on a 1:1 basis but we will also support individuals to meet up with friends and join in with group activities. Support activities can include going on a trip to the cinema, meeting up with a friend to go swimming, bowling or for something to eat, or music group. You may support more than one person in a day and every day is different. You will enable every person to make choices and create opportunities to do the things they want to do.

Our rotas are created around the individual needs of the people we support. This means we have a range of shift patterns available including community supports, day and evening supports and sleep-overs.

Experience in delivering formal social care supports or personal caring experience is desirable but not essential. A driving licence is essential for this post.

When you join our NASL team you will also;

· Receive full induction training, a shadow period with experienced workers, and have access to additional customer specific training as part of continuous professional development

· Have an opportunity to gain a relevant SVQ qualification in Health and Social Care.

· Access to 24-hour on call management support when you need it.

· Work various shift patterns with at least one weekend off in every four.

· Receive pay for your travel time and travel expenses if travelling between supports

· Have a range of benefits including competitive holiday entitlement, access to free health cashback plan, employee assistance programme, occupational sick pay, refer a friend scheme and access to high street discounts.

These posts are considered to be Regulated Work with Adults as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) (PVG) Act 2007. Accordingly, the preferred candidate will be required to become a member of the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Record Update if already a Scheme member prior to any formal offer of employment being made.
