About us:

Scottish Autism is dedicated to enabling autistic people to lead happy, healthy and fulfilling lives. We believe in the power of relationships to transform the lives of the people we support. We help build a more caring, compassionate, and inclusive Scotland, relationship by relationship. Our people work in teams, supporting each other through the challenges and triumphs that happen every day. Our organisation is our people, and the human qualities they bring to their roles.

About the job:

The posts will be based within our new exciting Appletree Housing Support Service, near Auchterarder which will initially support one autistic adult moving into their own home. The Autism Practitioners will work alongside the Senior Autism Practitioner to develop personalised support plans, build positive relationships with supported individuals, families and health and social partnership. Plans to develop an outreach service to help build activity planners that are meaningful to supported individuals will be put in place.

The vision of Appletree Community is of a small long-term cohesive community, staffed by committed, highly-motivated and creative individuals, in a semi-rural setting to enhance the lives of its unique supported individuals, their families, and those who care for them. Located in a converted steading with its own enclosed courtyard, the environment is adaptive for satisfying lives, cultural, artistic and spiritual practices, indoors and outdoors, offering links with wider community for the benefit of all and inspiring others. Previous social care experience is desirable but not mandatory.

Scottish Autism offers:

  • 32 days holiday (which increases with your length of service)
  • Sector leading training from day one, including fully funded support to complete your necessary SVQ
  • Non-contributory life assurance scheme
  • Workplace Pension
  • Wellbeing support
  • Smoke Free Organisation

All our posts are subject to a PVG Disclosure check. New employees must register with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting in post.
