Personal Assistant (Support Worker)

Job Purpose

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Job Details

We are looking for Personal Assistant’s to join an existing team 20+ hours per week in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. We are seeking female applicants to work alongside an established team. The service design includes an on-call rota which team members are expected to participate in.

A driving licence would also be beneficial as the lady has her own car which the team drive, however this is a desire and not essential as public transport can be used.

Experience of working with Autism, Learning Disability is preferable.

About this opportunity

This lady is currently supported by Thistle 24/7 in her own home. She likes being active in her local community, she enjoys swimming, music and trampolining and the occasional short break away. She has 2-1 support for activities which include days out and activity-based groups.

Staff will need to help her to maintain existing relationships and develop new relationships, connecting her with her local community in her neighbourhood following a recent house move.
