Personal Assistant (Support Worker)

Job Purpose

Our Personal Assistants support people to lead full, active and socially connected lives, supporting people to achieve the things that matter to them.

Applicants should have, or be willing to work towards, a qualification meeting the standards required for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Job Details

We are looking for two Personal Assistants to work with this 49 year old gentleman. This position is for 15 hours per week plus a sleepover. This gentleman lives in Craigmillar, Edinburgh.

The shift pattern is likely to be 3 pm to 10 pm, followed by a sleepover, and then 7 am to 10 am.

About this opportunity

He has a diagnosis of Autism and Bi-polar disorder but he is a loving caring man who can be overcome by his emotions on a daily basis. His team have been with him for many years and they know him very well, this has helped in giving this person stability which has improved his mental health enormously over the years.

He attends a day centre which continued over the last 19 months as routine is very important to him and he finds transitions difficult.

Someone who has experience with Autism or mental health would be useful but this gentleman has a good personality, is tactile and loves to laugh, he enjoys company and to chat.

He is very able and does not require any support with his personal care and is a delight to know.
