Aberlour Family Support Service, Langlees and Early Years Outreach

Aberlour Family Support Centre - Langlees works in partnership with the local community by providing a range of services which promote, positively support and strengthen the capacity of children and families to reach their full potential.

Our services supports families in the Falkirk area who may have experienced issues, including concerns for child development, social isolation and/or childhood trauma. The service works directly with the whole family in various settings, such as their own homes and our community-based Family Support Centre. As a Child & Family Worker you will be responsible for a caseload of up to 6 children aged between 12 months and 3 years.

What we are looking for....

We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about working with children and families to enhance their development. As part of our highly motivated and skilled team you will provide a personalised service for our children and possess the necessary skills and experience to promote the development of under 3’s in an early years, community based setting. Experience of working alongside Health, Education and Social Work colleagues to improve life chances for children and families will be beneficial to this position. You will work 4 days out of 5 (Monday to Friday)

A working knowledge and understanding of the key stages of a child’s development, including early brain development up to the age of 3, the impact of family circumstances on children’s well-being and child protection issues is essential. You will be familiar with and have experience of implementing and embedding the Realising the Ambition Guidance, and other local and national best practice standards. Knowledge and understanding of the Five to Thrive approach would be advantageous.

Please note that the Permanent post at Family Support Service Langlees requires Registration with SSSC and you must have or be willing to work towards the relevant qualifications.
