Location: Marischal College
Duration: Full time, permanent

Job Purpose:

To assist the Senior Structural Engineer on structural matters relating to Building Standards throughout the City.  Responsible for assessing and processing of building standards and licensing application in relation to structural matters.  Taking appropriate action in relation to defective and dangerous buildings within the City.  Taking part in the Services on call emergency arrangements for dealing with danger in relation to buildings and other structures.

Requirements

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

HNC or equivalent in a building related discipline.

Knowledge and understanding of building construction.

Responsibilities

The post holder as a minimum, will demonstrate skills and experience in;

Good analytical and administrative skills

Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, including managing conflict

Ability to work well with colleagues to achieve corporate objectives.

Ability to prepare cogent reports.

Good knowledge of PC systems and programmes.
