The Council’s Property Services Section is looking to recruit an Electrical Technician, to assist the Senior Climate Change Officer - Electrical in providing the Council and Client Departments with a professional Electrical service ensuring best value is delivered at all times.

The postholder is required to take specific responsibility for delivering allocated projects (generally of an Asset Sustainability/Service Development nature) and maintenance/compliance programmes in accordance with current legislation and best practice. Tasks will include undertaking surveys/audits, upkeep of statutory records, preparation of specifications and the supervision and management of contracts (and contractors) from inception to completion. This will include budgetary responsibility for projects/contracts within the remit of the post, including financial monitoring and control of expenditure.

The postholder is also required to provide 24 hour emergency cover and assistance outwith normal working hours (participating in a rota) with regard to the properties under their care to ensure that buildings remain safe. Provision of this service attracts payment of an additional allowance and the postholder will be typically on call two separate weeks in a six week period.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a determination to succeed and deliver first class results with a strong customer focus. They must be able to work both on their own initiative, with minimum supervision, and as part of a team.
