Job Description

Place

Community Justice Development Officer (Housing and Homelessness) - fixed term until 30/04/2024
Waverley Court

Salary: £34,057 - £40,275
Hours: 36 per week

A service with a broad and varied remit, Family and Household Support (FHS) takes an innovative approach to responding to Anti-Social Behaviour as defined in the Antisocial Behaviour(Scotland) Act 2004. Sitting within the Housing and Homelessness division of the council, at its heart, Family and Household Support is a preventative and early intervention service which seeks to address the root causes of Anti-Social Behaviour through responding to wider societal issues such as poverty, maximising household income, access to education and community support, offering a range of holistic supports, including Housing Support, Family Support and Mediation.

We are currently looking to recruit a Community Justice Development Officer to provide advice guidance and support the work of the Edinburgh Community Safety and Justice Partnership as well as assist the wider work of the Housing and Homelessness division.

You will be required to take a leading role in identifying and delivering our strategic priorities.

Working alongside our busy Family and Household Support Service you will help inform our responses to key issues that detrimentally effect our communities to ensure we are providing high quality support and deliver effective solutions to anti-social behaviour and wider Community Safety priorities across the City.

You will also work in close collaboration with both internal and external partners to ensure that work of the Community Safety and Justice Partnership drives effective and successful performance to tackle issues such as anti-social behaviour, hate crime, exploitation, safety in public spaces and other thematic workstreams.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate an understanding and experience of strategic project management, partnership working and policy development. You should have the ability to lead, manage and engage staff effectively, be able to build effective relationships with a wide range of agencies and partners and have the ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and work using your own initiative.  Experience of data analysis and trend analysis is desirable.

As a representative of Housing and Homelessness division at various multi-agency and partnership meetings you will have a good understanding of the role and remit of the service along with being an advocate for the values and approach of early intervention and prevention work.

If you are already an employee of the City of Edinburgh Council, we are happy to accept applications for a secondment to this post but you must have the permission of your line Manager before you apply.

We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
