Contract Adviser (Children's Services) - Fixed term contract until 31/12/2024

Contract management is an integral part of the delivery of Services to Children and Young People and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Adviser to join the Commissioning Team.

This post will see you involved in the procurement and management of the contracts and closely interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (including independent providers, voluntary sector and other Local Authorities). You will be an enthusiastic self-starter who can use their commercial skills to deliver real value to the service whilst achieving cost savings and other benefits or opportunities.

Key areas of work include

Participating in the collection of specialist, detailed knowledge of current practice within the client groups, monitor major reports/ research findings;

Monitoring and evaluating the outcomes of commissioned services to ensure organisations are fulfilling their contractual service outputs and obligations and meeting customer need.

Representing the organisation with suppliers and stakeholders, building professional commercial relationships, using your professional expertise to advise and support colleagues of all grades in relation to contract monitoring and performance management.

Promoting good practice across the Communities and Families Department within commissioned services through contributing to the development and monitoring of detailed service standards and practice guidance.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain a basic Disclosure Scotland certificate prior to commencing this post.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
