Stenhouse

Stenhouse EYC is located within the South West neighbourhood of The City of Edinburgh. It is located within the Stenhouse housing area of the City and consists of an adapted farmhouse and annexe building. The farm house is a two-storey structure which contains a number of meeting and office spaces, a kitchen, a staff rest room and various service utility rooms and storage spaces. The annexe building houses two large playrooms, a meeting/parents room, a small preparation kitchen, a bathroom, a large outdoor play area/garden and some indoor utility rooms and storage spaces.

Stenhouse EYC has staffing capacity to be open 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

There is currently a Head of Centre, two senior early year’s officers, a clerical, a kitchen domestic and six full time equivalent early years’ staff. The Centre has a Care Inspectorate registration capacity to provide a service for up to 40 children aged 0-5 years with the majority of children attending being aged 0-3 years old.

Sighthill

Sighthill Early Years Centre is located within the south west of the city of Edinburgh. It is located within the Sighthill/Calder’s housing area. The building is a purpose-built low-level structure, housing two playroom areas, a dining room area, two office/meeting rooms, one reception area, one small and one main kitchen area, a staff restroom and various service utility rooms and storage spaces.

The centre was purpose built in the 1970s and officially opened in 1983.

Sighthill Early Years Centre is currently staffed to be open 52 weeks a year, Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
