Residential Care Officer
Northfield House

Salary: £30,751 - £36,312 per year
Hours: 36 per week

This is for a full time day post, all hours will be between 7.00 am and 10.15pm, the shift pattern is worked over a six week rota and includes weekend working.

This permanent full time Day position is available at Northfield House.

You should have knowledge of Residential childcare and a good understanding of the needs of children and young people. Furthermore, a working knowledge of assessment, care planning and delivery of the appropriate support needed for young people. This post will require you to work as part of a team to provide care and support for up to 7 young people, ages can range from 13-21. You will be part of a well-established team at Northfield working in a nurturing and trauma informed way to develop positive relationships with young people, enabling their growth and development. You will work to improve their life chances and opportunities within a safe, nurturing, and fun home. You will also work alongside their families providing support and guidance.

As a Residential Care Officer, you will be providing a service to children/young people which will include the following key functions - emergency situations, planned care placements, outreach and respite and to ensure safe operation of the service.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
