Senior Project Manager - Active Travel
Salary: £37,589 - £44,934
Hours: 36 per week
Would you like to join Edinburgh’s growing Active Travel Team, to help deliver the city’s ambitious programme of investment in walking and cycling, public realm and street improvements?
We are looking for three Senior Project Managers to lead consultation, design and implementation of major projects involving
- on street segregated cycleways;
- pedestrian and public realm upgrades; and
- off street cycle/walking routes.
Our programme is a major component of the Edinburgh’s recently adopted City Mobility Plan 2021-2030. This aims to transform urban travel over the next decade to deliver a healthier, thriving, fairer and compact capital city, and a higher quality of life for all residents, as we transition to a zero-carbon future.
The projects involved are mainly on-street, including transformation of city centre streets, cycle tracks on suburban roads and reconfiguring junctions, but also include some new structures and associated landscaping on off-street routes.
You should have:
- a relevant degree and extensive relevant experience;
- project management experience, preferably involving delivery of similar projects; and
- knowledge of the issues, opportunities and problems associated with delivering urban active travel projects.
Most of the team are currently working from home, but it’s possible to apply to work full or part-time from the Council’s office at Waverley Court for practical or welfare reasons. The Council is currently considering options for the longer term - there is likely to be flexibility in relation to working from home or the office.
We are also advertising for a Senior Project Manager - Programme Delivery and a Senior Project Manager - Programme Management. If you are interested in more than one of the jobs, please apply for each one separately.
We're committed to creating a workplace culture where all our people feel valued, included and able to be their best at work, and we recognise the benefits that a diverse workforce with different values, beliefs, experience, and backgrounds brings to us as an organisation.
Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals.
