Dumfries and Galloway Council aims to encourage more people of all ages and abilities to actively participate in Ice Sport activities.

 

This role will be key in helping skaters develop their skills and reaching their full potential. Following British Ice Skating’s accredited skating programme, your delivery will be key in ensuring skaters enjoy every moment on the ice and become our next generation of skaters.

 

The right candidate will also play a key part delivering and developing progressive training programmes and routines for our skating club. Planning towards continuing and improving on their national and international success.

 

Experience of working with young people and delivering coaching sessions is essential along with a BIS level 2 coaching qualification. Candidates must be energetic, enthusiastic and have a passion for delivering safe and enjoyable pathways for the region’s young athletes.

 

This post is considered as Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. From 28 February 2011, preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to formal offer of employment being made by Dumfries and Galloway Council.

 

Applicants who have been resident outside the UK within the last 5 years, if offered a position, in addition to a Disclosure Scotland Check, will be required to provide a completed police record check from the police authority in the country or countries in which they were resident

 

A current driving licence would be an advantage.

 

This post is fixed term for up to 6 months.

 

This post may be suitable for secondment. Agreement from your line manager must be sought before applying for this post.
