You will have relevant qualifications at HND level or equivalent relevant work experience.
The Employability Support Team engages, prepares and supports jobless citizens to participate in the range of Employability Services that assists with removing barriers to employment, achieving qualifications, gaining work experience and ultimately supporting them into sustainable employment.
The post delivers a specialist service to refugees, particularly Syrian and Afghan refugees, as part of Dundee's Humanitarian Protection Partnership. The Employability Team also contributes towards the integration of services that support employability more effectively to create a City wide Dundee Employability Service, which is delivered in city centre and neighbourhood locations. These include Dundee City Council services (Community Learning & Development; Housing; Advice Services) and services delivered by other organisations within the Dundee Partnership (eg Dundee & Angus College, Skills Development Scotland; Department for Work & Pensions; NHS Tayside; Heath and Social Care Partnership; Third Sector Organisations). This post is part funded by the European Social Fund. In line with the conditions of the ESF grant awarded to Dundee City Council, 100% of the post holder’s duties will be related to the ESF project the post is funded to deliver. You will have experience of working in employability setting, experience of providing support to individual clients, experience partnership and of interagency working and knowledge and skills in providing specialist employability skills training to workless individuals.
You will have good communication skills, planning and organisational skills and be self-motivated, creative, enthusiastic and approachable.
You may be required to work irregular hours.
