Job Description
Are you an individual who can lead the transition to net zero? Are you motivated, innovative and able to lead and manage to deliver the Council’s goals?
This is an exciting opportunity in a dynamic and modern City where many new developments lie ahead, including the £300M Tay Cities Deal, the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc and Eden Project Scotland.
One of the five priorities in the Council Plan 2022-2027 is tackling climate change and reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2045. As a key member of the City Development Service, you will contribute to corporate decision making and the formulation and delivery of the Council’s corporate strategy and change programmes.
You will lead a small Team responsible for the development and implementation of the Council’s long-term climate change mitigation and sustainable development policies, strategies and plans. In this role, you will ensure that the Council is an exemplar in these fields, promoting awareness of carbon, climate and sustainable development related issues within the Council, its partners and the wider community in Dundee.
You will have experience of leading a team, providing advice and support to elected members and other senior contacts.
Do you have strategic and corporate awareness, advocacy, influencing and strong communication skills?
This role may offer flexibility of hybrid working between the office Dundee House and home based working.
