Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city.
Working 37 hours per week, you will be based at Ancrum Outdoor Centre and provide assistance to help meet service demands. You will be an aspiring outdoor activity instructor with personal experience in delivering outdoor activities. You will be physically fit and will have the experience and ability to work well with children and young people and be a positive role model.

You will have a Further education qualification i.e. NC/ HNC/HND in sport or outdoor coaching OR will have relevant experience of working with children and young people in outdoor environments.
You will also hold a current 16 hour first aid certificate.
You will work in partnership with school management teams to deliver active travel programmes for school pupils within schools and wider community settings. You shall also assist our highly qualified instructors delivering high quality outdoor learning courses and programmes.
You will have experience of working with children and young people in a leader role and have the ability to communicate and relate to children and young people.
You will also have the ability to directly deliver courses at school settings and assist our instructors delivering sessions and courses to participants in a range of outdoor adventure activities.
You will have a genuine interest in coaching children and young people in active travel sessions with particular emphasis on cycle training and have a genuine enthusiasm for outdoor learning in many different outdoor settings. Ideally you will be working towards achieving nationally recognised qualifications in walking, cycling and other pursuits. You will be able to demonstrate a high degree of maturity through undertaking responsible adult role in this post and have the energy and enthusiasm required to work for one of Scotland’s leading outdoor centres.
