Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Tayside Valuation Joint Board as Assessor & Electoral Registration Officer.
The Assessor & Electoral Registration Officer is an independent statutory officer responsible for implementation of the provisions of the Lands Valuation (Scotland) Acts, the Local Government Finance Act 1992 and the Representation of the People Acts. You will have direct statutory responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the Valuation Roll and Valuation List. In addition, as Electoral Registration Officer, you will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of the Register of Electors, which is essential for electoral events.

Requirements
You will be a Professional Associate Member or Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
Responsibilities
In this role you will continue the excellent collaborative approach within the Board, working in partnership to discharge jointly the functions of Angus, Dundee and Perth & Kinross Valuation Authorities.
The Individual
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of the law and practice of valuation for rating, council tax valuation and electoral registration. Previous experience in these areas of professional practice and in a leadership role is essential as well as a high level of communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
