East Renfrewshire Council have an exciting temporary opportunity for a temporary service designer to cover maternity leave in our digital transformation team. We are looking for a Service Designer who is passionate about User Centred Design to continue to support the work of our Transformation Programme.

Our services are complex and wide ranging meaning we have diverse user base – thousands of people use our services, which means a range of different needs and outcomes.

You will initially support the Customer Programme in the continuous development of the customer journey to ensure optimisation of end to end processes and help deliver business and customer benefits as part of our digital transformation ambitions.

We want people who are curious about our service users, their interactions with our services and how these can be improved, testing those improvements through their design work and ensuring the best possible customer experience.

You will have experience of customer-centric service delivery, a track record in creating digitally accessible services and be knowledgeable in Scottish Approach to Service Design and application of all the principles

*Depending upon the needs of the service, staff in Hybrid roles will typically work from home for up to 40-60% of the time where the needs of the service can still be met.
