Job Description

Falkirk Council and Health and Social Care Partnership aspire to be recognised as a Learning Organisation. We have a Social Work Service Workforce Development team responsible for the provision of comprehensive programmes of learning and development for our Adult, Children’s and Justice service workforce.

We seek to fill a permanent, part-time Training Officer position focused primarily on Social Work Adult Services workforce development. The main tasks will include regular delivery of Reablement, Moving and Handling of People and Behavioural Support Strategies (BSS) for Managing Challenging Behaviour training. The postholder is expected to design, develop, deliver and evaluate training in collaboration with services and colleagues within the workforce development team. There is also opportunities to support and provide multi-agency training, learning and development.

Interested applicants should have experience in the delivery of training and must be accredited to deliver or willing and able to complete training and recertification for Moving and Handling of People and BSS Instructor training and recertification. This will require travelling to the regional or national courses depending on the availability and location of the initial training. (Employer funded).

The post requires experience of working within Social Work and Social Care Services / Health and Social Care Partnership services. A relevant professional qualification in social work, occupational therapy or nursing and capacity to regularly deliver training is required. A training qualification is desired but not essential.

The post is part-time and primarily involves face-face training, learning and development delivery.
