Would you like to work for an award-winning Planning Service? Whether you are currently studying, recently graduated, or looking to develop your career in planning and caring for our rich environmental assets, Fife has a lot to offer, and we currently have a range of opportunities available.
A recent retirement has created a vacancy in our Policy & Place team for a Built Heritage Officer.
The post will provide an opportunity to work within Scotland’s largest Planning Authority out with Glasgow and Edinburgh, dealing with a varied caseload of work whilst rising to the challenge of creating great places for the people and businesses of Fife.
The post involves providing specialist advice on the historic environment and built heritage in relation to applications for planning permission, conservation area consent, and listed building consent. The post also involves contributing to the development and delivery of the built heritage component of policies and programmes, including Fife’s development plan and the Fife Historic Environment Strategy in addressing the key issues of social, and economic equality and climate change action.
Our systems and technology have been developed over the past two years, making it easy for our staff to work from any location. That means that whilst we are based in Glenrothes, the post is offered on the basis of a blended working arrangement, which can include a significant element of working from home.
