Finance Officer – Accounting

21 hours per week
Temporary up until 30 September 2024
£29,148 - £31,265 pro rata / £15.97 - £17.13 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

Applications are invited for a part time post within the Accounting Section for a Finance Officer.

The postholder will work within a busy team supporting the functions of the Accounting Section. The duties of the post includes the processing, validation and reporting of financial information.

You will be an effective team member but will be experienced in managing your own workload. You will deal with financial queries both from stakeholders both within and out with the Council, therefore experience of dealing with people is essential.

We are looking for someone who holds a relevant accounting qualification at SCQF 5/6, i.e., SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ 3, Higher, National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship. Alternatively you will have a minimum of 2 years previous relevant experience.

You should have good numerical, communication and organisational skills and have experience of working with finance systems.

This post is subject to Basic Disclosure Scotland clearance.
