Quality Assurance Officer

35 hours per week
Permanent
£31,776 - £34,331 / £17.41 - £18.81 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to provide operational and technical support to the Team Manager (Roads and Grounds Operations) and Team Manager (Roads Support) with the management and continual improvement of the Service Quality Management System, wider operational support systems and workflow processes for the management of the roads programme.

This is an exciting role which will assist the Council in in the development, implementation, monitoring and review of Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Safe Systems of Work and Method Statements with regards to Occupational Health and Safety within the Roads and Grounds team, and to advise the Team Manager (Roads and Grounds Operations) on safety, to ensure compliance with CDM Regulations 2015.

You will organise appropriate training for staff to ensure the workforce remains competent in undertaking their duties, ensure that appropriate training records are kept, and associated training plans implements for the Roads and Grounds Service.

You should be qualified in a relevant discipline at SCQF 8/9, i.e., SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship, or have a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
